Jiu-Jitsu: The Gentle Art of Self-Defense

The term Jiu-Jiitsu’ originates from the Japanese ‘Jū,’ signifying ‘gentleness,’ and ‘Jutsu,’ translating to ‘technique’ or ‘skill.’

In essence, Jiu jitsu is often described as the ‘gentle art’ for a powerful defense system. Jiu-Jitsu focuses on techniques over strength which allows anyone to learn to defend themselves.

It teaches respect, humility, and resilience. It emphasizes on using clever moves, holding techniques, and bringing down opponents

The WJJC World Championships of full contact ju-jutsu will be held on the 7th of November 2024 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The competition is a part of the 9th International Martial Arts Games, a huge event expecting to gather 10 000 martial artists around the world. The 9th IMG takes place in Tashkent on the 2-8.11.2024, the opening ceremony is held on Sunday 3.11.2024.
